Curious? Skeptical? >>> Read reactions from early players! <<<

Know that Cogmind is currently in beta development, and is therefore not finalized, but is already a very complete and balanced experience, and fun!

Cogmind could have been dubbed 1.0 many years ago if you want to compare its polish and content to other "early access" games, but new content and many expansions continue to be released free of charge (no DLC!), and they are highly integrated into existing content such that the experience can and does still evolve over time.

For an in-depth overview of Cogmind, see these three pages: 1, 2, 3. Or the abridged version here on Reddit.
See the Innovations page for how Cogmind is pushing the genre forward.
Progress is regularly reported on the forums and via the visual roadmap. (Check out the release history here.)

System requirements:

  • OS*: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 / 11
  • CPU**: Intel Core2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz / AMD Athlon II Dual-Core M320
  • RAM: 1 GB
  • Video Card: N/A
  • Disk Space: 80 MB
  • Minimum resolution: 1272x720

*We have many players using Linux/OSX without issue, but not natively. On Linux, Cogmind can be run directly in Wine, or via Valve's Steam Play. Mac users have many options to run Cogmind if using 10.14 Mojave or earlier (if using Catalina or later, Crossover 19 is required; anyone with newer hardware such as M1 can use this method)

**CPU is the most limiting factor, and while Cogmind will run on much slower machines than listed above, actions may not play out as smoothly. With anything from the last 8 years or so you shouldn't notice any slowdown. Required RAM is the likely maximum for the game itself, excluding that required by your operating system and other background programs you use at the same time.

Final prices may vary by region due to taxes, choosing an option will show the actual price before you buy! (Listed prices do include VAT in EU countries; however, other customers outside the U.S. may be subject to VAT imposed by your local government--the extra cost goes to your government, not Grid Sage Games!)

Buy Cogmind Beta Access

$24.99 Beta Tier

  • One (1) DRM-free copy of game with immediate access, including all future updates, forever
  • Optional Steam key available for those who want to also play on Steam (note that direct buys here on the site contribute much more to development!)

To learn why Cogmind is not very cheap, I've written lots of words on pricing here.

Also, due to strong demand the in-game item attribution reward and Advanced Tier are sold out and no longer available here.
Other 2015-2016 alpha supporter perk tiers have also been permanently removed as Cogmind is essentially complete as of 2017--we're officially out of alpha!
Some other perks have since become available via Patreon.

Cogmind on Steam

  • Note that buying from Steam only puts about half of the funds towards future development, due to Valve's cut and extra taxes. Buy direct to offer more support (and get a Steam key if you like!), or if you do buy from Steam, please remember to leave a review :D
