I'm so used to seeing the brackets around other queryable terms that this one stood out.

Ah, this one's because it's not a Query() command, it's an Analysis(). The latter types don't link to anything because it's a separate system. Remember that a successful analysis gives you bonus to hit, while queries are used for actually searching through records and finding information. (In theory the query system could be accessible through analyses, though I'd have to look at the logistics of that and make sure its feasible on the inside.)
