So I was planning to do some combat run this time, with a little bit of hacking, and hopefully migrate over to flight build on a later floor. Materials are great place to track down operators and take their hacking suites. By the end of Materials, I had so many hacking suites (at least 5 in total) I had to throw some out to make room for backup weapons and propulsion. However, that build quickly changes after I found a trap extractor and then later, a stasis trap on -7 Factory. No, I'm not going to carry a bunch of traps this time, unlike my other trapper run. I'll only be carrying a single one.

Why? One of the lores says that standing in a stasis trap reduces all incoming damage by 25%. I think that's pretty significant. With that in mind, I can afford to take up more offense while still be beefy. As time goes on, I started to replace my equipped hacking suites for other parts. I didn't get much chance to grab many offensive utilities, so instead I went for even more defense with armor.

After reaching -6 Factory, I found a cave that leads me to Zion. From there, I suddenly found access to one of the scariest branch of all: The Deep Cave.

My run is currently in-progress, but it has been pretty crazy so far. Due to some sloppy play, I ended up in A LOT of gunfights. At one point, in Materials (I think -8), I had a garrison I couldn't seal, with Defenders coming from either side. Frantic grenade launchering ensued followed by frantic matter getting. Towards the end of that floor, lo and behold, a sign from the heavens... One room. 3 good flight units. One sensor array. One signal interpreter. Flight build, here we come :D. I'm currently in Factory, hoping to make it as high as I can collecting lore. I'll be updating this post as I go!

Edit: Flying was great! I think my biggest problem is that I get going so fast, I forget to stop and actually make decisions :/. In -3/Research, I had the toughest time finding a main exit. Hacks didn't work, Veterans, Wardens, and all kinds of baddies everywhere. Low on matter, I decide to ambush a Technician (or Eye?) from behind a wall... it was a Master. Things went downhill REAL quick as I scrambled for an exit. In the end, I made it to -2/Research with nothing equipped. That's it for now, but I'll update with my eventual demise :D.

Edit 2: Welp, I lasted approximately 2 mins on -2/Research, couldn't find the equipment to get restocked.

Ah, ended up heading back again so soon, eh? Still more stuff to learn in there :D

And more stasis cheese tactics :P. I guess there's also the disadvantage that once you perhaps want to reposition during battle, you can't, hehe. Interesting findings regarding how to keep it alive longer!

I hope you weren't trying to nade the Defenders (or did you have no other options?), since they're pretty resistant to that. I mean I guess you can still do it (now I'm wondering if GJ does that anyway with his explosive builds...), just feels like a waste to me.

Edit: Flying was great!
It's a good way to play, but yeah the impressive speed can get you killed if you don't stop and plan accordingly :P

Oh, I was definitely nading the Defenders. I honestly haven't payed too much attention to enemy weaknesses and resistances yet. That changes today :D
