Fixed Bugs & Non-Bugs / Unable to ascend stairs in lower caves

In the lower caves I came across a stairway that was indicated as such by the HUD auto-highlight, but no staircase (<) was visible on the map.  Likewise I could not auto-ascend or manually ascend on the give space.

Confirmed Bugs / Incorrect Mass Displayed Briefly

I just ascended to -6 and did an immediate stats "s".  My mass was displayed as 763/84.  After closing the window and re-opening, the mass was reported correctly.

Ideas / Cycle Propultion

A new type of propulsion that allows you to move at a speed of 100 for 5 turns. 

After this point there is a 33% chance that, on each subsequent move, your Cogmind falls over and breaks something.

General & Off-Topic / DCSS .18 Tournament

I've been participating in the DCSS bi-annual tournament for a few years now.  It's been quite a bit of fun.

This year, my normal team has a bit of overflow, and I'm thinking of setting up a supplemental team with Cogminders.

Would anybody be interested?  You can find more information here.

It would be cool, if technically feasible, to pull up a map in this style (FOV preserved) to view the explored area at a glance.

Fixed Bugs & Non-Bugs / Cetus Auto Ascend

This may not actually be a bug, but I have auto-ascend turned on and stepping onto the Cetus entrance didn't automatically transfer me to the area.  I spent some time thinking there was something else I needed to do to activate the door, but all that was required was '>'.

Ideas / Compelling reasons for visiting branches

I like the idea of reward mechanics in Garrisons and the new Hub_04(d).  I'd like to see more of them ;)

What I'd really be interested in are concrete ways to boost your score or pimp your Cogmind. 

Some examples:
  • find a special item +pts.
  • blow up a specific robot +pts
  • blow up a specific structure +pts
  • make it through a branch without being seen +pts
  • liberate a robot for an awesome NPC ally (a little of this already here)
  • find a one shot item/hack that permanently boosts a stat (permanent +25 energy for example)
  • Find a unique item (alien artifact?  HCP storage unit ;))

I really enjoy having to look or do something on a level other than book for the stairs.

General Discussion / Controlling Allies w/Keyboard

I must be thick, but humor me.  I can't figure out how to issue allies orders with the keyboard.  I always have to switch to mouse mode and do it.

The instructions say:

0~5 to issue an order and Shift-0~5 for info.  What the heck does that mean? ;)

Could somebody please enlighten me?

Ideas / Unique Robots

One of my favorite parts of DCSS are the unique mobs that spawn from time to time.

I'm not sure it fits your vision for the overall feel of the game, but it would be kind of cool to run across special "named" versions of bots throughout the game.

Out of band stats, fixed gear, interesting dialog events, that sort of thing.

Stories / Builder gets the kill

So I got into a firefight on -4 with some swarmers.  No problem, I'll just gun them down because I'm totally butch. 

During the fight, a convenient corridor was blasted out.  Awesome, I'll just hop in it and take them out 1 at a time.  After all, positioning is key when fighting.

Until a builder came a long and decided to fix things up mid firefight.
