Warning - a pretty spoilery story.
Started a game with an intent of trying full combat run. In the early factory levels I ran out treads and legs and swapped to hover instead (a stash of cmb. airjets was great! These things could actually carry as much as my treads without being overburdened). On the same floor I found Long-ranged Sensor Array and Experimental Signal Interpreter! RIP combat run, now it's a stealth run.
Still factory: I fell down a chute only to find ~20 allies.
I managed to load some high rank grunts (thanks, DM!) into fabricator and get more allies. I'm an idiot. I should've made angels.
One of the factory branches: Met Warlord. Got into Warlord's stash. My hover propulsion was able to carry Vortex Chain Reactor, which I used to power up an Experimental Phase Shifter.
-3 and above: Soon I found a Reaction Control System (Advanced one!) and got 90%+ evasion thanks to other items mentioned in the spoilers above :P. Enhanced Optical Array encouraged me to try sniping build again and so I did: full kinetic loadout, no need for extra cooling, destroying grunts before they can fire their first shot. Also, hovering makes it easy to reposition and dodge chance greatly cuts the damage done by enemies with high ranged weapons.
-2, Warlord conquers the floor. First time I'm seeing all these prototype bots. A Troll got crushed by a cave-in. He survived but what kind of life is that? So he got crushed again... I managed to find all garrisons before terminals got locked down. I wanted to see if Warlord has anything to say if I disable all garrisons on the floor (i.e. "This floor is ours! Time to conquer the Access!"). Got 3 out of 4. This sniper build was insane! I was able to obliterate waves of complex' prototypes with almost no damage received! 4th garrison was hard to get, with 2 other exits on my way. I couldn't handle triple the number of prototypes singlehandedly... or rather I didn't want to risk it - this was going to be my first escape from the complex and I didn't want to risk it too much. One of the highlights was enemy programmers assimilating a Dragon! After that (well... after destroying them) I decided to leave. Stole GM for the first time and got to -1: Access
-1, Access: I probably didn't need GM to handle enemies here. Actually I believe GM dealt more damage to me than all the other enemies combined (I couldn't dodge his launcher shots...) and it was GM that destroyed my Exp. Phase Shifter :(. My sensors detected a behemoth and I thought that the last exit is going to be heavily guarded, so I went in that direction. 2 behemoths on radar. I dig through the walls and leave GM behind. I steal BOTH behemoths, thanks to a code from researcher in the caves :). I really felt like I was owning this place now more than MAIN.C, with GM and 2 behemoths at my sides. Unfortunately I didn't expect a highly armored barricade that is resistant to almost all common damage types. Fortunately I had an uncommon damage type in the form of Vortex Rifles and Vortex Cannons. :)
