General & Off-Topic / Cogmind VS Joypad
« on: March 22, 2016, 08:41:17 AM »
Today i asked myself if it's possible to play Cogmind with an Joypad.
so i searched for my old one, a very cheap just a digipad with four shoulder-buttons and
these four standart(thumb?-)buttons. googled for an program what brings the keyboard-keys to the pad-buttons. (for win 10 i found and tried joytokey). simple setup the pad and started cogmind.
It is so great that i just want to share this as an alternative controloption.
sure, for the micro-management you still need the keyboard but you need only one hand.
For Example my setup looks like this L1=change target(tab) / L2=.(wait) / R1= Ctrl / R2=shift / X=shoot / []=a / /\=g / ()=alt, for the movement the vi-keys to the 8-way-digicross ...
You see you have just (for example) to press R1 & R2 with the right hand and with the left you can change the parts. ideal for lazy couch potatos.
...now i ask me if it's possible to controll Cogmind by speech. :D

try it out as an alternative..it's really fun and i am sure that u even can bring the micro-management to the pad/controller when it's better than the crap i tried out.

at the end of my last run i was very surprised as i saw that i only got 40 points for 2 prototype-id. because i know that i discovered a lot more. so i looked at the log and yes...at the end of the log you can see that there are list more than two prototypes. i don't understand that. i compared at and with in some other logs and sometimes it is right sometimes not.
it seems or no better can it be that prototype-id's i unauthorized hack for (>>prototypes) do not count ?
Spoiler: example-logsheet (click to show/hide)

Fixed Bugs & Non-Bugs / crash when i set spotters to explore
« on: January 02, 2016, 04:22:18 PM »
first time since i play cogmind under linux that it completly crashed.
was in the recycling and found a programmer as a friend who assimilate
me two spotters. back on the main floor in -6 i just play around with
my little army, try some orders and so on...crash. again..crash...wtf.
now i know...the game don't like it when i set the spotters to explore.
i really don't need these spotters but my game crashed a few times
and i just want you to let you know that.

sad to say that i can't test that under windows at the moment...
but i can send u all the files .

Ideas / Cogmind - The whistling Assassin
« on: November 14, 2015, 04:30:45 AM »
I have a little Idea for more stealth-action.
how about a whistling or an peep-signal what cogmind can spread out ?
example: enter a room, sentry did not see you, you hide behind a reactor or so and then
spread out this peep-signal to lure the sentry to the hide-out...all without shooting.
or for a whistling by the way, just for fun...

but not for free, this peep-signal comes from a short-circuit triggered by cogmind himself,
so it cost of course energy (20-30).

...just a suggestion
