New map animation does not support reverse video
« on: March 07, 2017, 08:21:41 PM »

I just entered storage and there I see Y type robot sitting on a throne while green area scan is a progress. Wow, a special vault or rare content! Animation finishes and the green Y on a black square turns into black Y on a yellow square. A mundane recycling unit? Bye, bye excitement.

By "reverse video" I guess you're referring to foreground-background inversion? (reverse generally means backwards, inverted means swapped--had me confused for a second there when I thought you were talking about some kind of animation playing backwards :P)

I don't believe any of the map animations explicitly take into account the fact that interactive pieces of machines use an inverted coloring scheme, so you might see things like this occasionally happening around interactive machines. You'll notice it with other animations, too.

Ah, so it is a design decision. Okay, I will get myself used to it. Thank you for explanation.
