While pressing alt+shift+P twice in a row quickly, the game can crash. This happened after around 10 successful attempts so it's not easy to trigger this bug. I think it happened before the game was finished writing its are you sure prompt.

Ideas / Equipment cache map between levels

We know that once you exit a level, you lose all your pursuers through a maze of passages. We also know that W's soldiers are active in multiple factory levels and they leave equipment stashes in areas that recyclers don't go. So it's likely that they use the same maze of passages between levels that you use and leave hidden stashes there.

I think there should be a small map between two factory levels or after them that contains one of W's stashes. Maybe make it findable only if you've brought a structural scanner.

Suppose you have just a few propulsion slots and 4 weapon slots and then find a stash of 6 prototype wings and you wish you could change your weapon slots into propulsion slots. Or suppose you found some shielding devices but don't have the engine slots or power amplifiers to make use of them in the long-term. Instead of leaving behind parts or carrying the to the next floor, the answer to this is a Core Reconfigurator, an alien artifact that can immediately switch 1 or 2 slots of 1 type into another type.

Currently, you can always either leave Data Miner's level with the squad redirection in effect, or you can always kill Data Miner to get to the data conduits and sometimes get the attached hackware.

Sometimes, I'm not prepared to enter the data conduits because I don't have a build ready for the combat programmers, but I'm still interested in hacking the machines when I get back into the factory using the hackware. Currently, when I don't get the hackware, I have to either leave with nothing or restart the game and hope to get the better outcome in the next game.

So my idea is to have fewer hackware parts attached to Data Miner, and to add one of them as a salvagable part, obtainable only by destroying the machinery. That way, the third option of walking away with the hackware is always available.

This idea is from the Cataclysm DDA forum. In this thread we post funny but still terrible ideas and bad suggestions.

I'll start with a few I thought of and saw in the discord.

* Building your own garrisons that you can call your own reinforcements from
* Building your own complex that you take ownership of
